That has been steadily closing the cost gap with internal combustion engines, making electric vehicles more affordable for the middle-class consumer, and pushing more drivers to switch to environment-friendly cars.
Governments across the globe are racing to set new, ambitious targets for the electrification of their fleet as part of pledges to become carbon neutral.
There has been an increasing number of countries preparing to phase out the use of petrol and diesel vehicles pushing a major transformation in the auto industry as carmakers start to stake their future on electric cars.
Though electric vehicles still make for a small slice of the market (9% of new cars sold in 2021), their share more than doubled in just a year signalling that the era of electric cars may come sooner than you think.
